The Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine (JRSM) and JRSM Open are peer-reviewed journals for scholarly commentaries and clinical research.

Professor Kamran Abbasi is the Editor in Chief of both journals, which are editorially independent of the Royal Society of Medicine and published by SAGE Publishing.

Members of the Royal Society of Medicine have free online access to all JRSM and JRSM Open content. There is also the option to subscribe to a print copy of JRSM.

JRSM Open

JRSM Open is the open-access companion journal to the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine. The journal publishes research papers, research letters, clinical reviews and case reports. 

Its aim is to influence clinical practice and policy making across the medical and surgical specialties.

JRSM and JRSM Open accept manuscript submissions for review by the Editor in Chief.

Both journals offer rigorous peer review and operate an open peer review process.

There is an average time of 30 days from submission to first decision for JRSM papers. A fast-track decision service is available for high quality research articles with good quality peer review comments transferred from other journals. JRSM is indexed by the Journal Citation Reports.

JRSM Open is recorded in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). It offers highly competitive rates with some of the lowest Article Processing Charges (APCs) in open access publishing with discounted rates for RSM members.
