Launching December 2017
Following the success of ‘Doctors of the Future’, The Royal Society of Medicine and ITN Productions are partnering for a consecutive year to produce a news and current affairs-style programme that will explore the collaborative approach to medicine, encourage new thinking and look at solutions to prominent healthcare issues.
‘21st Century Healthcare’ will highlight the importance of sharing and creating new knowledge, as well as celebrate success stories from the wider healthcare team. New innovations and break-through ideas are playing a vital part in addressing the big healthcare challenges of the future and the programme will showcase how the industry can continue to champion a collaborative approach.
With a focus on mental health, an aging population, innovation and the wider healthcare team, ‘21st Century Healthcare’ will aim to offer solutions and theories that can assist the health service across the UK to address current challenges. The programme will play a vital part in highlighting the importance of a cross-speciality and cross-professional approach from the wider healthcare team.
Drawing upon ITN’s 60 year heritage and expertise in storytelling, the news-style piece will be anchored by Natasha Kaplinsky to combine key interviews and reports with sponsored editorial profiles from leading organisations.
‘21st Century Healthcare’ will premiere at an RSM Breakfast Briefing at Chandos House, central London, on Wednesday 13 December. The programme will form part of an extensive communications campaign featuring members, industry partners, government partners, as well as relevant journalists, writers and bloggers.
Helen Gordon, Chief Executive, Royal Society of Medicine, said: “The NHS and healthcare systems and workforce across the world must evolve to meet the changing needs of patients over the long-term. Our collaboration with ITN Productions gives the Society a valuable opportunity to add our voice to the important discussions that need to take place about the future of healthcare and the teams that are needed to provide that care.”
Simon Shelley, Head of Industry News, ITN Productions, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Royal Society of Medicine to produce ‘21st Century Healthcare’, a programme that will explore the ideas and innovations that will address the big healthcare challenges of the future. We hope that this programme will be shared so that knowledge and ideas can be pooled, to ultimately improve the delivery of healthcare services. We’re excited to embark on the programme and engage with professionals throughout the sector and beyond to tell that story. We hope the content can be used to share best practise, innovation and ideas to shape a stable and secure future.”
