Mr Eoin Dinneen is an ST7 in urology in the north-east London deanery, currently working at UCLH in the department of robotic uro-oncology. An RSM member since his student days, Eoin has completed a PhD at UCL, where he continues to work on techniques and trials to improve functional recovery for men undergoing surgery to treat prostate cancer.
Along with his young family, Eoin will be moving to Melbourne, Australia to work in the prestigious uro-oncology fellowship programme at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre - considered one of the foremost cancer hospitals in the world. Eoin will be a full-time member of their clinical and research teams for one year starting in February 2025, during which time he will look after patients with the full gamut of urological cancers, including patients who require complex, robot-assisted, major surgery. Commenting on the role, Eoin said: “The diversity of exposure in terms of the surgeries that I will undertake and the particular expertise of the Peter MacCallum in cutting edge diagnostics for prostate cancer make this fellowship a once in a lifetime opportunity.
"We are incredibly grateful to the RSM, the Ellison-Cliffe Charitable Trust and the Ellison-Cliffe family for this generous gift, which alleviates some of the financial pressure of long-distance re-location. I am humbled and grateful to win this prestigious award. With this endorsement, I am determined, more than ever, to make the very most of my year in Melbourne, to be an ambassador for the RSM and to remain an active member of the RSM for the rest of my career and beyond.”
