Dr Melita Irving, Chair of the Ellison-Cliffe Charitable Trust, which awards the fellowships, said: “Reviewing applications for the fellowships along with the shortlisting committee is a delight each year. It’s a privilege to be party to the plans these ambitious healthcare professionals have, and we’re delighted to be able to support four excellent candidates in seeking out the very best educational opportunities overseas.”
The Ellison-Cliffe Travelling Fellowships were set up in 2004 by the late Dr Carice Ellison-Cliffe and her husband Dr Percy Cliffe through their charitable foundation, which also supports an eponymous lecture given each year at the RSM which explores science at the coalface of medicine.
Towards the end of each year, previous recipients of the fellowship return to the RSM to present their experiences from their time working abroad. Keep an eye on the RSM website for upcoming details of the 2024 presentation evening.
