Dr Judith Jade is an ST6 rheumatology registrar at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She is particularly interested in multi-system inflammatory disease; and especially the idiopathic inflammatory myopathies.
From July 2024, Dr Jade will be undertaking a year-long fellowship in myositis in Vancouver, Canada. She will develop expertise in treating complex myositis patients at the quaternary centre, as well as gain experience in related fields such as neuromuscular disorders. Additionally, she will undertake a research project focusing on cardiovascular risk factors in myositis, with the support of Arthritis Research Canada.
On winning the award, Dr Jade said:
“This fellowship is instrumental in being able to afford to take up this invaluable opportunity in Canada. I am excited to be able to bring the skills and knowledge I gain back to the UK as a future rheumatology consultant, with the possibility of developing a myositis service.”
