The Trustees of the Royal Society of Medicine are deeply saddened to convey the news that Professor Linda Luxon CBE, former Trustee and Honorary Treasurer of the RSM, died on Saturday 2 September.
Professor Luxon held a number of senior positions during her career, including Emeritus Professor of Audiological Medicine at UCL and Honorary Consultant Physician in the Department of Audiovestibular Medicine, UCLH. Formerly she was Head of the Department of Neuro-otology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Head of Academic Audiovestibular Medicine at UCL Institute of Child Health and the UCL Ear Institute.
RSM President, Professor Roger Kirby, said: “Linda was not only an eminent clinician, but an especially wonderful person. She was adored by her patients and deeply respected by all her colleagues. She did an impeccable job as Trustee and Honorary Treasurer of the Royal Society of Medicine, for which we are truly grateful. She will be sadly missed by all of us.”
