Dr Neville Davis, former RSM Trustee and Vice-President of the Society, sadly died earlier this month.
A founding member and the first President of the RSM Clinical Forensic & Legal Medicine Section, Dr Davis was a leader in the development of clinical forensic and legal medicine in the UK. He trained, supported and mentored many aspiring forensic physicians and took delight in seeing their development and success: the best of teachers.
A bust of Dr Davis (see above), sculpted by another former Trustee and Vice-President Mr Neil Weir, was presented to the RSM and can be found in the Club area.
Dr Bernadette Butler, current Clinical Forensic & Legal Medicine Section President, said: “This year the Section is marking its 35th anniversary with an online meeting on Saturday 12 November at which Neville had planned to be present. Although his final illness meant he could not attend in person, he had hoped to join online. Sadly, this was not to be, but he will be with us in spirit.”
