The death has been announced of Professor Sir Paul Cosford, Emeritus Medical Director for Public Health England.
Speaking on behalf of the Royal Society of Medicine, President Professor Roger Kirby said: “I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Sir Paul Cosford yesterday aged only 58. Sir Paul was a stalwart supporter of the Royal Society of Medicine and a leading light at Public Health England where he made invaluable contributions to the 2014 Ebola crisis as well as to the Salisbury poisonings. Sir Paul was adored and admired by all who knew him. His premature passing is a devastating blow to us all, but especially to his wife, our former RSM Trustee, Professor Gillian Leng, and to the rest of his family, to whom we send our most sincere condolences.”
