About this event

  • Date and time Tue 1 Apr 2025 from 10:00am to 5:00pm
  • Location Royal Society of Medicine
  • Organised by Vascular, Lipid and Metabolic Medicine Section

Recent advancements have significantly improved the identification of individuals at high risk of cardiovascular events and the management of their modifiable risk factors. However, there is increasing recognition that certain patient groups remain under-assessed and under-treated for their cardiovascular risks.

Join this meeting to explore how standard cardiovascular risk assessments can be enhanced for specific groups. Gain practical strategies for incorporating additional risk factors and effectively managing these risks to improve outcomes.

By attending, participants will learn to assess and manage the cardiovascular risk in:

  • Patients with chronic conditions like rheumatological diseases, HIV, liver disease, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, or metabolic disorders
  • Patients with diabetes, metabolic syndrome and metabolic-associated steato-hepatitis
  • Females and individuals of South Asian and Afro-Caribbean heritage, and other ethnic groups
