About this event

  • Date and time Tue 17 Sep 2024 from 9:00am to 5:30pm
  • Location Royal Society of Medicine
  • Organised by Vascular, Lipid and Metabolic Medicine Section

Lifestyle interventions are now seen as key to preventing and managing cardiovascular disease, including reducing blood pressure and lipids. This symposium aims to update and urge action on the potential of lifestyle changes for improving cardiometabolic health.

This event features a condensed format with three keynote lectures by established and emerging leaders and four sessions on key lifestyle intervention components: exercise, diet and nutrition, smoking cessation, and blood pressure and lipid management. Attendees can view the Harvey Prize award, discuss posters, and network during lunch and the reception.

By attending, participants will:

  • Understand the importance of lifestyle in the prevention and management of cardiovascular risk
  • Be able to evaluate if a patient requires lifestyle intervention
  • Develop a management plan to improve their own practice to advise on lifestyle interventions
