About this event
- Date and time Tue 26 Sep 2023 from 9:30am to 5:20pm
- Location Royal Society of Medicine
- Organised by Vascular, Lipid and Metabolic Medicine Section
Despite similar mortality rates to many cancers, there is significant variation in managing patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD), resulting in missed opportunities for effective interventions. Join this exciting meeting focused on the current optimal management for this important and rapidly growing group of patients. This event welcomes clinicians at all career stages to explore guidelines, current practices, recent developments, and future possibilities in PAD management.
The Cardiovascular Symposium will feature updates on treatment guidelines and molecular mechanisms from renowned leaders, along with selected original presentations by rising stars in vascular medicine competing for The Harvey Prize. This esteemed event includes two keynote lectures and five sessions dedicated to key management components. Following the lectures, attendees can witness the Harvey Prize award ceremony and network during a drink reception with fellow medical professionals. Don't miss this invaluable event to enhance your knowledge of effective PAD management.
By attending this event, you will be able to:
- Understand the significance of optimal management in treating patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD)
- Acquire the ability to assess whether a patient with PAD is receiving optimal care and, if necessary, initiate appropriate treatments
- Appreciate the value of multidisciplinary collaboration in PAD treatment and understand when and whom to refer to when needed
- Formulate a comprehensive management plan to enhance their practice and provide optimal care for patients with PAD
