Join us for this special 2-day meeting as we celebrate 70 years of the Welsh Surgical Society and share updates on recent clinical developments, training issues, and research.

Junior doctors and students will have the opportunity to present their work and compete for one of the prizes. Senior surgical and political leaders will have the opportunity to participate in interactive discussions on future issues in surgical training and practice.

This is a joint meeting with the Welsh Surgical Society.

By attending the meeting, you will:

  • Receive an update on the future of surgery and surgical training from the leaders of surgery in the UK. 
  • Hear updates in clinical and scientific surgical research. 
  • For Junior doctors and students to present their research and discuss multidisciplinary cases. 
  • Network with surgeons at all stages of their careers from students to retired fellows – including delegates from the Celtic fringe. 

The following prizes will also be presented and awarded at the meeting, the MIA Prize, Adrian Tanner Prize, John Dawson Medical Student Prize.

The Welsh Surgical Society will also present the following prizes, the Ivor Lewis and Richard Johnson Prize. For more information on the WSS prizes, submission guidelines, and how to prepare for the abstract click here.
