Automated vehicles have long been promised but how close are we to being able to board a vehicle with no steering wheel? In this talk, Professor Nick Reed will discuss the history of automated vehicles, dating back to the mid-20th century, and consider some of the reasons why this technology has been pursued and some of the challenges that have hampered its implementation. He will then discuss some of the current and upcoming activities in the sector and ask the audience to decide whether they are truly the future of transportation or whether they will always be so.

This event is available to attend in person or virtually. Please select your preference below.

A recording will be available for all registered event participants for up to 60 days after the event. The link will be sent 24 hours after the meeting.
