Professor Roger Kirby MA MD FRCS (Urol)
Immediate Past President, Royal Society of Medicine and Vice President, Prostate Cancer UK
Explore the current options for prostate cancer diagnosis and discuss promising future approaches at our next Spotlight webinar, with Professor Roger Kirby, Professor Mark Emberton, Professor Anwar Padhani and Professor Shonit Punwani.
Our key speakers will discuss the most recent findings in prostate cancer research and examine emerging treatment options for localised prostate cancer, considering their overall impact on patients.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer for men in the UK, affecting 1 in 8 men during the course of their lifetime.* Symptoms often do not appear until the disease has reached an advanced stage, which can result in later diagnoses and limit treatment options. And yet in the UK, there is no national screening programme.
Awareness of prostate cancer has increased due to high profile figures such as Sir Chris Hoy and Stephen Fry sharing their stories. However, we must keep this momentum going and continue to raise awareness to ensure men are diagnosed at the earliest possible stage.
This spotlight episode aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the UK approach to prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment. Chaired by the distinguished urologist and leading expert in prostate cancer and urological health, Professor Roger Kirby, join us as we bring together key experts, clinicians, and researchers for an enlightening discussion to enhance your understanding and perspectives.
