Medico-legal workshop: Providing medico-legal advice and expert evidence - 9:30am to 1:00pm (BST)

In the morning session, this interactive workshop features group discussions and exercises to enhance your writing and evidence-giving skills. Expert panelists will provide insights into the role of an expert witness and the skills needed to provide medico-legal evidence and opinions.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the essential requirements for providing medico-legal advice and expert evidence
  • Develop your writing and evidence-giving skills to initiate or improve your ability to provide expert medico-legal evidence and opinion

Medical innovation and safety in medicine - 2:00pm to 5:30pm (BST)

In the afternoon session, we will dive into the world of innovative new healthcare technologies. We will explore potential risks and challenges that come with these innovations, via lively and insightful presentations and discussions, with an informative and thought-provoking line up of speakers. Plus, an opportunity for those attending to network and share their thoughts on the evolving and innovative landscape that exists both in the US and in the UK.

Speaker's biography

Robert Kellar KC is a barrister at 1 Crown Office Row. His areas of specialism include clinical negligence, professional regulation, healthcare, public law and personal injury. Robert acts for both claimants and defendants in complex, multi-party and high value litigation. Robert speaks, publishes and advises in the emerging areas of AI, web3 and crypto regulation.

Dr Alan W Davis MD

Speaker's biography

Dr Alan W Davis MD served as the Department Chair for Orthopaedic Surgery, Fairview (regional CCF) Hospital, CC Innovations and Supply Chain Committees. He attended Michigan State University, Academic All American, and Big Ten, as a scholar athlete, football, and was the President of MSU Varsity Club. He was the Team Physician for the college and professional sports teams, along with USA Hockey. He gained his MD from Wright State University at the Boonshoft School of Medicine, and went on to do his Orthopaedic Residency at Cleveland Clinic. He has been married to wife wife Pamela for 44 years and has 5 children and 10 grandchildren. In 2006, he joined his medical school best friend, Dr Louis Cannon MD, at BioStar Captial.
