Join this in-person event to learn about the many career opportunities in Respiratory Medicine, including different sub-specialties and how to get involved in research, leadership and medical education. You will hear from leading figures in Respiratory Medicine about their field and their advice on a successful career in Respiratory Medicine. You will also watch the winners of the Royal Society of Medicine Respiratory Section’s Student, Registrar, and Foundation Year and Senior House Officer Award present their prize-winning research. The event will finish with a networking event with the speakers and attendees. 

By attending this event, you will learn:

  • How to pursue careers in research, leadership and medical education in Respiratory Medicine
  • To maximise your chances of obtaining your dream job in Respiratory Medicine

Submission deadline: Monday 3 February 2025

Open to: All current UK medical students and FY1 doctors who completed the research whilst at medical school.

Registrar Award

Submission deadline: Monday 3 February 2025

Open to: ST3 and above who have received all or part of their training in the UK. Registrars from any specialty may apply. Applicants need to have been a Specialist Registrar when the project was undertaken (including IMT3 year)

Prize: £100 and free attendance to the RSM Respiratory Careers Day on Monday 12 May 2025

Foundation Year and Senior House Officer Award

Submission deadline: Monday 3 February 2025

Open to: Junior doctors currently in foundation training or SHO level in the UK (IMT trainees, JCF, trust-grade SHO). Applicants need to have been a Foundation Year doctor or Senior House Officer (e.g. IMT1/2, Trust Grade SHO, F3) when the project was undertaken, and need to be the first author of the abstract.
