Professor and former chief of the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery and the Craniofacial Center UIC, and training program Director, University of Illinois, Chicago, USA. Author and coauthor of 174 peer review articles and 35 book chapters. Editor/ co-editor of 9 Textbooks. Past President of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American Association of Paediatric Plastic Surgery and several regional and local Societies. Corresponding members of the Academy of Athens, Greece.

Speaker's biography

Shai M. Rozen, M.D. is Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and is Director of the Facial Palsy program at UT Southwestern, Director of the microsurgery fellowship, and Director of clinical research. He has a special interest in the field of facial paralysis and has published prolifically on the subject with emphasis on early intervention, innervation of facial subunits, and the treatment of synkinesis, providing solutions to patients with facial paralysis from the US and abroad. Dr. Rozen is a frequent speaker in academic centers in the USA, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and is an avid educator and mentor to medical students, residents, and fellows and enjoys lecturing and interacting with trainees and faculty in the US and abroad. 

John Anastasatos

Dr John Anastatos

Plastic Surgeon, Beverly Hills, CA

Speaker's biography

Dr. Anastasatos was born and raised in New York City. Following high school, he received a full scholarship at Brown University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. He was then immediately accepted by the School of Medicine, where he was awarded his medical degree four years later.   

 

General surgical training followed at Columbia-Presbyterian hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University. Leaving New York City, Dr. Anastasatos moved to the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) for his plastic surgery fellowship under renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Luis Vasconez. Dr. Anastasatos also completed a fellowship in hand surgery, upper extremity and microsurgery. Upon his certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, he was appointed Assistant Professor of plastic surgery at UAB. During this time, Dr. Anastasatos also served as Attending Surgeon at UAB Hospitals, The Children’s Hospital and Veterans Administration Hospital.  

 

In 2007 he established his private practice in Beverly Hills, CA which he maintains since then. Dr. Anastasatos performs both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery of the face, breast, body and nose. In 2023 he also established another practice in Athens, Greece. 

 

Dr. Anastasatos is an active supporter of children’s charities and victims’ assistance organizations in Los Angeles and Orange County.   

 

Dr. Anastasatos is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has served as an Expert Reviewer for the Medical Board of California. He has been rated as a top doctor by US News and Castle Connolly. He has received a US Congressional recognition for his contribution to plastic surgery and charity.
