Come and join this study day to explore common allergic conditions that you will encounter as a general paediatrician in both acute and outpatient settings, including their pathophysiology, investigation, diagnosis and management. This event is designed to provide you with the latest knowledge and best practice in the field to enhance your confidence in effectively managing patients with allergies. You will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops where you can hone your practical skills in allergy. Furthermore, you will learn about training pathways in paediatric allergy, either in sub-specialty (GRID) training or as a general paediatrician with a special interest (SPIN). 

By the end of the study day, you will be able to:

  • Take an allergy focused clinical history
  • Utilise and interpret appropriate investigations in supporting an allergic diagnosis
  • Assess, differentiate and manage children and young people with IgE-mediated Vs. non-IgE-mediated food allergy.
  • Understand the role and importance of working and learning in a multidisciplinary environment for managing allergic conditions
  • Understand the pathophysiology of anaphylaxis and gain confidence in its diagnosis and management.
  • Recognise and appreciate the spectrum of allergic conditions.
  • Understand the trainee pathway for Paediatric Allergy GRID and SPIN
