This study day will cover non-malignant paediatric haematology conditions and will provide you with the latest updates available in the field of paediatrics haematology to trainees. It will be an engaging session with specialists and wider multidisciplinary team involved in paediatric haematology in which experts will discuss the conditions that are regularly encountered by a trainee in accident and emergency department, paediatric wards as well as in outpatient clinics. You will also have the opportunity to hear from a GRID/SPIN trainee who will give an insight into sub-specialising in haematology 

By attending, you will:

  • Review paediatric bleeding disorders and their management 
  • Recognise Neutropenia and its management
  • Develop an understanding of bone marrow transplant, failures and patient’s experience.
  • Identify the causes of anaemia in children and the indication for tertiary referrals
  • Manage haemoglobinopathies and its complications 
  • Attain further insight into sub-specialising in haematology
