Speaker's biography

Professor Burkat is a Professor of Oculoplastic, Reconstructive and Orbital Surgery in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She graduated from Harvard University and the University of Rochester, followed by a dual fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. In addition to clinical practice, Prof Burkat has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and over 88 book chapters and is on the review board of many prestigious journals. She has been invited to speak at numerous national and international courses and has been given the American Academy of Ophthalmology Senior Achievement Award as well as the nominated Secretariat Award in2019.

Mr Raman Malhotra

Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon, Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Speaker's biography

Having finished his basic surgical ophthalmic training at the Western Eye Hospital, London, Mr Raman Malhotra went on to complete his higher surgical training experience in Oxford. He then completed a fellowship in oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia. In 2003, he returned to the UK and was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead. He actively participates in organising regional courses and has published a range of papers on many aspects of eye surgery and procedures related to facial plastic surgery around the eyelids. 

 

Andrew Pearson

Mr Andrew Pearson

Consultant Ophthalmologist, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust

Speaker's biography

Mr Andrew Pearson's undergraduate training took place at Cambridge University and St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, qualifying in 1989. His training in ophthalmology commenced that year, with a first post at the Prince Charles Eye Unit, Windsor. Mr Pearson has also undertaken two advanced higher specialist training programmes in oculoplastic surgery at both Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham and Moorfield's Eye Hospital, London, and is a founder member of the British Oculoplastic Surgeons Society.

Mr Hugo Henderson

Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust

Speaker's biography

Mr. Henderson trained as an undergraduate at Oxford University and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. He completed his specialist training in ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital and undertook sub-specialist fellowships in oculoplastic surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital and at the multi-disciplinary Craniofacial Unit in the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Mr. Henderson now runs the Oculoplastic Service at the Royal Free Hospital Hampstead London and Barnet Hospital.

Speaker's biography

Mr Richard Caesar trained in medicine at Cambridge University and then at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School. He qualified in 1992 and then studied ophthalmic surgery in Oxford. He specialised in oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery with fellowship training in Oxford, and then further fellowship training in Melbourne, Australia. Mr. Caesar was appointed an NHS Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon to the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in September 2003.

Professor of Rhinology, Imperial College London and Consultant Rhinologist and Facial Plastic Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust

Speaker's biography

Professor Saleh is a leading international figure in rhinoplasty, both cosmetic and functional, and in sinus surgery. His work in complex rhinoplasty and sinus surgery is well-recognised nationally and internationally. He is regularly invited as an international expert in rhinoplasty and sinus surgery to conferences worldwide. Mr Saleh has published more than 120 peer reviewed articles and 30 book chapters on rhinoplasty and sinus surgery.

Mr Saj Ataullah

Consultant Ophthalmic, Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgeon, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust 

Speaker's biography

Mr Saj Ataullah graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, London, in 1991. He trained in general ophthalmology in London and Manchester and then specialised in oculoplastic surgery training both internationally and in the United Kingdom. Saj was appointed as a Consultant Oculoplastic, Lacrimal & Orbital Surgeon in 2002 and has a major role in teaching and training of ophthalmic surgeons. He co-runs an internationally renowned fellowship in oculoplastic surgery.
