Join the History of Medicine Society’s short break to Stirling from Friday 20 June to Sunday 22 June 2025.
Situated in central Scotland, Stirling is accessible from all airports, with onward-going public transport. Free parking is available at the Conference centre. Book your chosen accommodation at the Stirling Court Hotel, on the campus of Stirling University, which has a frequent and regular bus service into central Stirling.
Stirling, a jewel of a Scottish City has a fascinating history. Close by is the Wallace Monument. We have a personalised guided tour on Saturday morning to Stirling Castle one of Scotland’s finest and home to monarchs, it sits on a volcanic outcrop with exceptional views.
After a welcome dinner on the evening of Friday, June 20 and the following morning’s tour we join colleagues from the Scottish History of Medicine Society for an afternoon of talks followed by dinner in the hotel.
On Sunday we visit the Falkirk Wheel, the world’s only rotating boat lift a marvel of engineering. A farewell dinner on Sunday evening ends the tour leaving guests to continue exploring the local area or returning home.
