In an age where unending information is at everyone’s fingertips, and interest in diet and lifestyle has never been greater, the impact and reach of health and nutritional ‘misinformation’ is potentially huge. Thus, this topic should be of concern to all allied health professionals.

Join us for this insightful one-day webinar, and hear from key experts in nutrition, dietetics and social media about high-profile examples of such misinformation, why people are vulnerable to it, and how it may impact our behaviour and health. Our experts will also consider where responsibility lies in countering such misinformation, how best to combat it, and where the public should look for reliable information. Participants will have ample opportunity to pose questions to our expert panel during the Q&A sessions throughout the day.

The meeting aims to provide participants with a clear understanding of the current research evidence and practices regarding posting online nutrition information and misinformation. Topics covered will enable clinicians and allied health professionals to be aware of the significant impact that nutritional misinformation can have on professionals and the public.

By attending the meeting, you will:

  • Acquire critical knowledge of the evidence regarding the impact of online nutrition misinformation.
  • Understand the policies and processes pertaining to online nutrition information.
  • Gain greater awareness of the role influencers play in shaping the current discourses and culture.
