We are excited to invite you to this meeting, where expert speakers will discuss the basic principles of abdominal wall repair and the prevention and early management of intestinal failure (IF). The meeting will bring together surgeons, physicians, radiologists, and pharmacists who will present cases on managing patients with IF due to abdominal surgery and the difficulties of abdominal wall repair.

By attending, you will:

  • Understand what is meant by IF and know ways of preventing it from occurring
  • Appreciate the key abdominal wall and intestinal anatomy in patients with IF 
  • Know how to assess and manage an enterocutaneous fistula and when to operate
  • Know the principles for the medical management of surgical IF
  • Appreciate the importance of early revascularization in mesenteric ischaemia
