Watch the pre-recorded webinar of this event on the effective approaches and resources to improve transition care for adolescents and young adults with asthma and allergies. It will be delivered by a range of multidisciplinary experts in asthma, allergies, atopic eczema, allergic gastrointestinal disease and immunodeficiencies with specific interest and expertise in this age group.

This course will provide attendees with the tools to understand and address the challenges faced by adolescents and young adults living with asthma and/or allergies and their families, as well as healthcare professionals dealing with this age group. A range of strategies and resources aiming to improve communication, adherence and self-management skills will be presented and discussed. Case scenarios and role play will be used to illustrate common difficulties and needs identified in clinical practice.   

By watching this recording, participants will learn:

  • The challenges faced by adolescents and young adults living with asthma and/or allergies, their families and wider network
  • The challenges and barriers faced by healthcare professionals to improve transition care in asthma and allergy
  • To communicate effectively with adolescents and young adults to work in partnership with them throughout the transition
  • Practical approaches to improve adherence and self-management skills in adolescents and young adults living with asthma and/or allergies
  • Signpost adolescents and young adults living with asthma and/or allergies, their families and wider network to available high-quality resources to support their transition process
