Sarah Hughes - a journalist, wife and mother - sadly died from breast cancer on Easter Monday 2021, aged 48. She regularly wrote for The Observer and Guardian newspapers, including articles on popular TV shows ‘Line of Duty’ and ‘Game of Thrones’, as well as moving accounts of her cancer diagnosis.
When she died, her friends and family came together to raise funds for an annual lecture in her name to be organised and hosted by the Royal Society of Medicine’s History of Medicine Section.
The inaugural lecture this week will see Line of Duty writer, Jed Mercurio OBE, interviewed by Channel 4’s, Victoria Macdonald, in what will be a fitting tribute to Sarah’s life.
